Professor Chung-I Wu of the School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University responded to the accusation that the virus has not been a work of genome editing and that it had been kept been isolated in a lab and cultured there and that through an accident – bad protocol or a misstep – escaped from a lab.
"It would violate the law of nature to grab something without testing and throw it out," Wu said.
