British sprinter Chijindu Ujah has been provisionally suspended for violating an anti-doping rule.

A member of the team that ranked second in men's 4x100m relay at the Tokyo Olympics, tested positive for two banned substances.

Athletics Integrity Unit on Thursday confirmed that the test on Ujah suggested two banned substances in his A-sample. However, Ujah has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.

The test showed the presence of Ostarine and S-23 in his A-sample, both classified by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) with effects similar to anabolic steroids.

If the test result is positive again over the B-sample, Team GB faces the possibility of being stripped of the silver medal from the relay, and Ujah might face a four-year ban.

Team Italy claimed gold in the event in Tokyo, with Team Canada and Team China ranking 3rd and 4th, respectively.
