Kandahar and Herat, respectively the second and third largest Afghan cities, fell to the Taliban in another major blow to the government forces. It's the Taliban's biggest seizure so far as their forces further threaten Kabul. The United States and Britain say they'll send thousands of troops to evacuate their embassy staff in Afghanistan.
