Afghans marked Independence Day, commemorating the ending of British rule by unfurling national flags across the country on August 19. The Taliban's supreme leader Haibatullah Akhundzada also congratulated Afghans on the 102nd anniversary of the country's independence, Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi said in a statement.
