A new COVID-19 case in a local hospital nurse belongs to the Delta strain, Shanghai's COVID-19 prevention and control task team said on Friday, adding the case is not linked to any others found across China.
Genome sequencing of the case showed it had a strong similarity to imported cases and belonged to the same spread chain, the task team added.
The nurse was diagnosed on Wednesday.
