A South Korean court has ordered the seizure of Mitsubishi's assets over the Japanese industrial giant's use of forced labor during World War II. According to data from Seoul, around 780,000 Koreans were conscripted into forced labor by Japan from 1910 to 1945. In a ruling in 2018, the South Korea's Supreme Court ordered Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to pay compensation to a handful of the victims. Still, the Japanese firm refused to follow the verdict.
