As the Taliban started gaining ground in early August – thousands of Afghans began fleeing the country – with many headed towards Iran to cross into Turkey. Hundreds have reportedly managed to cross through while many others have failed. The journey is not an easy one – and one group of people play a key role in the process – smugglers.
