The Chinese mainland recorded 20 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, with four being local transmissions and 16 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Saturday.

In addition, 20 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 508 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 94,599, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636. 

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,049 (11,761 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 63 (59 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,906 (13,550 recoveries, 827 deaths)
