'The Kite Runner' author urges respect of human rights in Afghanistan

Published in 2003, the bestseller "The Kite Runner" has been well received worldwide. The book is set against a backdrop of the fall of Afghanistan's monarchy to the rise of the Taliban regime. Its author, Khaled Hosseini, sent a message to CGTN Host Tian Wei, expressing his concerns for the country and urged measures to exert pressure on the Taliban to respect human rights.
