Expert: Harris has a 'difficult, if not impossible task' on Asia trip
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is in Singapore ahead of a visit to Vietnam. Her two-nation tour was meant to further build what Washington calls a "free and open" Indo-Pacific region whilst "revitalizing its alliances and partnerships." But, "Harris really has a difficult, if not impossible task," said Andy Mok, senior research fellow at Center for China and Globalization. "The Afghan disaster revealed, or perhaps confirmed the very worst fears of countries around the world about American competence and resolve. These leaders will be very closely watching Vice President Harris."
