Hurricane Henri downgraded to tropical depression

Hurricane Henri was downgraded to tropical depression Sunday night after it made landfall as a tropical storm in Rhode Island. /CFP

It swept the northeast with downpours and produced heavy rainfall and flooding across areas of New England, New York, New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania from Sunday to Monday. /CFP

Residents affected by Henri stocked up on groceries and gasoline. Some gas stations from Cod to Long Island sold out of fuel, according to the AP. Hundreds of flights were canceled and New York City's commuter rail system was suspended on Sunday. /CFP
