The Chinese mainland recorded 35 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday – one local transmission and 34 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

In addition, nine new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 491 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 94,687, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636. 

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,062 (11,766 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 63 (59 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,932 (13,601 recoveries, 828 deaths)
