Xi Jinping inspects cultural heritage protection in N China's Chengde

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday made an inspection tour of Chengde City, north China's Hebei Province.

He conducted field research on the preservation and development of cultural heritage, and religious affairs, ethnic unity, rural vitalization and elderly care services.

President Xi visited the Chengde Mountain Resort, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site that once served Chinese emperors during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). He then visited Puning Temple, a famous Buddhist temple near the resort, and the Chengde Museum.

Xi also visited a market in a village and a community-based service center for elderly home care. 

This was the second day of Xi's tour in Hebei following his visit to Saihanba Forest Farm on Monday.
