Chinese President Xi Jinping made an inspection tour of Chengde City, north China's Hebei Province, on Tuesday. He conducted field research on the preservation and development of cultural heritage, and religious affairs, ethnic unity, rural vitalization and elderly care services.

President Xi visited the Chengde Mountain Resort, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site that once served Chinese emperors during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is a masterpiece of Chinese palace architecture and gardening as it combines different architectural styles from across China and integrates elements from different ethnic groups and religions.
