The United States is trying to shift blame and cover up its failure to counter the pandemic in its so-called investigation into the origins of the coronavirus, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday. A 90-day intelligence review into the origins of COVID-19 ordered by U.S. President Joe Biden was due on August 24. U.S. officials said the intelligence agencies are unlikely to come up with a clear conclusion as to whether the coronavirus originated naturally or leaked from a laboratory.
