Like many of his urban peers, in early 1969, 15-year-old Xi Jinping was sent to the countryside to learn from the farmers. He spent seven years with the villagers in Liangjiahe. Farmer Zhang Weipang, who called himself Xi Jinping's "iron buddy," shares stories of those times.
