In May, U.S. President Joe Biden ordered U.S. intelligence officials to "redouble" efforts to investigate the origins of COVID-19, including the theory that "it came from a laboratory in China." He asked the intelligence group to report back to him within 90 days. Gennadiy Onishchenko, the first deputy head of the Russian State Duma Committee on Education and Science, pointed out the Chinese government has always taken an open and cooperative attitude on origin-tracing issue, and has invited WHO experts to Wuhan for origin-tracing research cooperation.
