A humpback whale jumps out of the water in the Pacific Ocean at the Uramba Bahia Malaga National Natural Park in Colombia on August 26, 2021. The park is an area of high biodiversity and is said to have the largest number of breeding humpback whales along the Colombian Pacific coast.

Humpback whales often leap out of the water, a behavior known as "breaching," and slap the water with their fins or tails. These behaviors have long been mysterious. Some scientists believe these are forms of communication.
