China expressed deep condolences over the passing of former International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Monday. 

Rogge made outstanding contributions to promoting the development of the Olympic movement, deepening the friendly cooperation between the IOC and China and successfully hosting of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Wang added.
