New Zealand reported on Monday that a woman had died following her Comirnaty Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination, according to the Ministry of Health.
The ministry issued a statement and noted it has considered that the woman's death was due to myocarditis, which is known to be a rare side effect of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
"The myocarditis was probably due to vaccination," read the statement, adding that further details cannot be released while the coroner investigates.
New Zealand reported 53 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. All of them are in Auckland, bringing the total number of active cases in the latest community outbreak to 562.
