Tan Jianhua is a familiar face for those who live along the Mekong River. After all, this boat captain from southwest China's Yunnan Province has patrolled the river over 100 times, as part of a joint patrol by China, Burma, Laos and Thailand, to fight drug trafficking and crime in the zone. He remembered how residents once showed him a sign, indicating "we are brothers," and how that invigorated him.
