The formation of Afghanistan's new government is in its final stages after the U.S. withdrawal from the country, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, citing Anas Haqqani, a senior Taliban leader.

"We have covered about 90 to 95 percent of the deal on forming a new government and we will announce the final outcome in the following few days," he said.
