The Chinese mainland recorded 28 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday – one local transmission in Yunnan Province and 27 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.

In addition, 19 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 435 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 94,926, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,113 (11,798 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 63 (60 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,001 (13,692 recoveries, 836 deaths)
