South Korea is planning to develop new missiles "with significantly enhanced destructive power" after the recent lifting of U.S. curbs, Yonhap news agency reported on Thursday, citing the defense ministry.

Under the country's defense blueprint for 2022-2026 unveiled on Thursday, the military will deploy new interceptors against long-range artillery threats and upgrade the Patriot system to bolster its missile defense capabilities.
