First built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), South Putuo Temple is a must-see tourist attraction in Xiamen. The temple got this name from its location to the south of Putuo Mountain, one of the four holy Buddhist fields in Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province.

Xiamen is the first stop of the second part of CGTN's special series "Tides of Change." Buckle up for our breathtaking adventure as we take a closer look at the busiest seaport and trade zone in the area and explore how locals strive for a better life.
