Chinese mainland reports 28 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 28 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday – one local transmission in southwestern Yunnan Province and 27 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Saturday.

In addition, 22 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 424 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 94,982, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,112 (11,798 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 63 (60 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,012 (13,728 recoveries, 837 deaths)
