Japan PM Yoshihide Suga to step down in late September

Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said Friday he will not run for re-election as head of the governing Liberal Democratic Party. Three candidates have announced their intention to run. Nippon News reports that Suga will back candidate Taro Kono, who currently serves as the minister for administrative reform.
