A magnitude-5.1 earthquake hit Hotan Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Saturday, according to China Earthquake Networks Center.
The quake happened at around 9:54 a.m., with a depth of 7 kilometers.
Around 30 minutes earlier, a magnitude-4.8 quake hit Xinjiang's Kashgar Prefecture with a depth of 8 kilometers.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
