The Chinese men's goalball team won the silver medal after losing to Brazil 2-7 at the tournament final at the Tokyo Paralympics on Friday.

Romario Marques of Brazil broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the match, while Josemarcio Sousa added another shortly after.

Leomon Moreno scored a penalty only 39 seconds after the second half started but Yang Mingyuan returned a penalty 15 seconds later to make it 3-1.

As Moreno and Sousa each scored two more goals to make it a hat-trick for both, China lost 7-2 after Yang saved a penalty and scored another.

A silver medal is still China's best finish in the men's goalball since the Beijing 2008 Paralympics, where the host team won the gold medal.

After playing seven full matches, Yu Qinquan said he felt "peaceful" after the final.

"I want to take this experience to the next Games and make sure I will do better," he said. "We're still going to keep on fighting, because everyone is making progress."
