Ireland is the Country of Honor at this year's China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Four Irish state agencies are participating for the first time, making their strongest ever presence at this year's CIFTIS. CGTN speaks to Irish Ambassador to China Ann Derwin to learn why the country places so much importance on the event.

Ireland is a member of the European Union and has a strong services sector, with trade in services exports acting as an engine for its economic growth. In 2020, Ireland's total trade in services exports reached $262 billion, ranking fourth among Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. Its trade in services with China continues to grow.
