The death toll from Hurricane Ida rose to 67 across eight U.S. states as of Saturday, according to a report from ABC News.
Ida blew ashore in Louisiana as a fierce Category 4 hurricane on August 29, tied as the fifth-strongest storm to ever hit the U.S. mainland. Though downgraded from hurricane status, Ida then moved north with heavy rain that overwhelmed urban drainage systems.
