In an exclusive interview with CGTN on September 4, Ahmadullah Wasiq, deputy head of the Taliban's cultural commission, denied claims that the Taliban have "suffered considerable losses" from their clashes against opposition forces in Afghanistan's Panjshir Valley.

He said the Taliban have gained control of "the most important areas in Panjshir," and the province will come under Taliban rule "very soon."
