A magnitude-7.1 earthquake struck Mexico on Tuesday near the Pacific coast, the country's National Seismological Service said, leaving one dead.
The epicenter was 11 kilometers southeast of the beach resort of Acapulco in Guerrero state, the service said, upgrading its estimate of the tremor's strength.
One death was reported from the quake due to a falling post, local media said, quoting the governor of the Guerrero state.
Acapulco is roughly 375 kilometers from Mexico City.
