The government has rolled out two new development plans for Guangdong Province, said the State Council during a press conference. Under the plan, a special zone will be created at the Hengqin island to boost cooperation between Guangdong and Macao, which will help Macao diversify its industries. Hengqin is linked to Macao by a bridge over the Pearl River. The second plan - the Qianhai Plan - will expand the current Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone by over eight times to 120 square kilometers to foster quality growth in the service sector and bring in international standards.
