Malaysia's parliament convenes amid sluggish economy, pandemic

Malaysia's parliament convened Monday for the second time this year. It's the first gathering of lawmakers in the Lower House since the appointment of Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the new Prime Minister. In his address to parliament, the country's King urged the government and opposition MPs to work together. He called for stability to address challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and economic slowdown.
