U.S. President Joe Biden has approved California's request for a major disaster declaration, allowing access to Federal assistance for people in the areas affected by the Caldor Fire that began on August 14, 2021.

The president will travel to Sacramento, California on Monday to survey wildfire damage and deliver remarks on his administration's response to recent wildfires, the White House said late on Sunday.
