Since 2013, the U.S. Department of Defense has invested $23 million in Ralph Baric's lab at the University of North Carolina. The virus research Baric is doing has been part of the U.S. genetic engineering program for making bioweapons, according to a video commentary published on Chinese social media account Yuyuan Tantian. 

In matters of science, we often say that the person who invented the gun is not at fault; it's where the gun points that makes the difference. However, what if Baric's virus research was well-directed from the beginning?
