A total of 156,000 Taiwan residents had received COVID-19 vaccine shots on the Chinese mainland by the end of August, said Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, citing preliminary statistics.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Zhu reiterated that the mainland will provide utmost assistance to Taiwan compatriots willing to get injected.
