Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed better education to ensure all-round development of the country's youths during a visit to a middle school in Suide, a county under the city of Yulin in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, during his inspection tour in the province.
"[I hope you can be] all-round talents, and carry that momentum forward step by step. Be the ones that can contribute to the society in the future, and the backbone of China," he told the students of a middle school he visited.
The same day, Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited a revolutionary site – the old site of Former Prefectural Committee of CPC, an exhibition hall for local intangible cultural heritage and a village.

He conducted field research on local efforts in carrying forward the CPC's traditions and style of work, promoting all-round development and healthy growth of students, enhancing the protection and inheritance of traditional culture, and advancing rural revitalization on all fronts.
During his visit to the old site of Former Prefectural Committee of the CPC in Suide to honor the revolution history, Xi hailed the spirit upheld by revolutionaries of the old generations, who always prioritize the Party's interests and stand with the majority of the laboring people, and noted that the spirit is of great inspiration.
He urged Party members to carry on the revolutionary tradition, remain true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind, and always stand and work together with the people.

At the exhibition hall for intangible cultural heritage in Suide, Xi praised the local protection and inheritance of the traditional culture.
Noting that Suide is one of the important origins of the Loess Culture with abundant resources of intangible cultural heritage and traditional folk arts, Xi highlighted the importance of protecting folk arts as they are the precious fortune of the Chinese nation, and are of great importance in the course of building a socialist country with advanced culture.
He called on officials to find the link between traditional culture and modern life so as to meet people's ever-growing needs for a better life.

At Haojiaqiao Village, Xi learned about the revolutionary history of the village along with its achievements in poverty alleviation.
The village has been actively developing its characteristic industry since the 18th CPC National Congress held in 2012. The great efforts have brought dramatic change to the villagers' life.
Hou Zhirong and his family is a good example. Plagued by illness, he managed to shake off poverty in 2016 thanks to local government's support and his own efforts.
Xi extended his congratulations to the Hous and stressed that ensuring a better life for the Chinese people is always the aspiration and mission of the CPC.
He urged the whole country to carry forward the spirit of poverty alleviation, work hard and strive to build the country into a modern socialist country.

At the village's greenhouse base of vegetables and fruits, Xi learned about the village's industry planning and development situation.
The Chinese president attributed the village's success to appropriate policies, diligent people and favored environmental conditions.
The point, according to Xi, is to conduct in-depth research, figuring out problems, raising solutions and summarizing experiences. He hopes other places could learn from the successful experience of Haojiaqiao Village.
President Xi started his tour in Shaanxi on Monday, where he also checked out local ecological conservation efforts.
