Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi Thursday met with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, expressing willingness to continue to help Mongolia develop its economy and improve people's livelihood.

China will firmly support Mongolia in its fight against COVID-19, steadily cooperate on major bilateral projects between the two countries, and support Mongolia in strengthening cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Wang added.

Both sides should continue to respect each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, core interests and grave concerns, he said.

Amarsaikhan said Mongolia thanks China for supporting its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, especially by offering high-quality vaccines, adding his country has broken out of the most difficult times.

The Mongolian side firmly supports China's safeguarding of its own core interests, said Amarsaikhan, adding that he hopes that both sides can strengthen high-level contact and boost cooperation.
