The Chinese mainland recorded 84 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, including 62 locally-transmitted cases, mostly in southeast China's Fujian Province, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Friday.

In addition, 20 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 378 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Chinese mainland to 95,577, with the death toll remaining at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,149 (11,862 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 63 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,115 (13,742 recoveries, 839 deaths)
