A delegation from the 15-member Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Friday arrived in Conakry, the capital city of Guinea, for talks with the leadership of the coup in the country.

The delegation includes Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo and Cote d'Ivoire's President Alassane Ouattara.

The visit came a day after the bloc agreed at a summit in Ghana to freeze the financial assets and impose travel bans on military members and their relatives and demanded the unconditional release of Guinea's President Alpha Conde.
