Chinese vice Premier Han Zheng on Saturday afternoon met with Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Carrie Lam in Shenzhen City, south China's Guangdong Province.

Han said it is hoped that the SAR government can implement the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong" and organize the three major elections in accordance with law.

He added that the central government firmly supports the SAR in consolidating its status as an international financial hub and building into a global center for technology and innovation, urging it to deepen cooperation with the mainland.

Lam said the SAR government will organize the elections well and actively take part in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the development of Qianhai.
