The government of Afghanistan is optimistic about future relations between the two countries, a Taliban spokesperson told a press conference on Tuesday.

"We're optimistic and looking forward to their assistance. We ensure that the pledged assistance will be delivered to people by the health sector," spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said when asked about China's aid, including its donation of COVID-19 vaccines. 

He said the Taliban appreciated China's longtime support to Afghanistan as well as its recent stance on the situation in the country.
