Chinese mainland reports 72 confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 72 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 42 cases of local transmission of the virus, all in southeast China's Fujian Province, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

In addition, 13 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 349 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 95,810, with the death toll remained at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,165 (11,874 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 63 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,147 (13,742 recoveries, 840 deaths)
