September 21 marks the International Day of Peace, first proclaimed in 2001 as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. On the occasion, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged China and the United States to repair their "completely dysfunctional" relationship and warned of a potential new Cold War.
