The Chinese mainland recorded 41 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 16 cases of local transmission, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

In addition, nine new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 342 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 95,851, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,166 (11,878 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 63 (63 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,152 (13,742 recoveries, 840 deaths)
