The table tennis team events concluded yesterday, as Team Guangdong and Team Liaoning won men's and women's team events titles, respectively.

Olympic gold medalist Chen Meng missed out on her first opportunity to clinch gold at the National Games yesterday, ranking 2nd in the women's team event with fellow players of Team Shandong.

Chen, however, is among several top-ranked players who started their campaign in singles events today, including Liu Shiwen and Sun Yingsha, all easily advancing to the last 16 of the women's singles.
