The United Nations General Assembly has opened with a mix of in-person and virtual speeches. Several world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, have addressed the Assembly to discuss COVID-19 and other pressing issues. Xi reaffirmed China's goals to reduce carbon emissions and pledged to offer more COVID-19 vaccines to nations in need.
