Chinese Harvest Festival: Farmers reap colorful fruits in N China
Hawthorn berries are ripe for picking in Jiangxian County in northern China's Shanxi Province. The village of Zhengchai in the county cultivates more than 10 varieties of hawthorn. The annual production is up to 25 million kilograms, worth over 50 million yuan, or 7.7 million U.S. dollars. The hawthorn berries are sold to markets in Beijing, Xi'an and other cities in northeast China.
